Who is the HR Specialist, Leadership Programme for

HR Generalists and Specialists, who have typically migrated into the role and have had either limited formal training or little practical exposure to the multiple facets of a HR Specialists role and are looking to support best HR practices in their organisation.

Programme Objectives

Provide the HR Specialist, with the knowledge in the primary HR areas of responsibility specifically:

  • HR Policies

  • HR Compliance Essentials

  • Successful Performance Management

  • Disciplinary and Investigative Procedures

Provide the HR Specialist, with the skills in the following relationship management areas:

  • Understanding Personality Types

  • Coaching for Managers

  • Relationship building, Influencing skills and Managing Up

  • Building Resilience

Programme Impact

Enabling the HR Specialist to become more sure-footed and confident in supporting the deployment of best practices in HR and People management across the organisation.

Developing the assertiveness, confidence and self-awareness of the HR Specialist enabling them to be recognised by the management team as vital contributors to both building the business and the overall team.

Programme Format and Investment

The programme will run over 12 months to ensure not only do participants get the opportunity to learn the key skills of the effective HR Specialist, but they also get to apply these skills in a practical way as the programme is rolled out over the 12 months, demonstration of successful application is incorporated into the certification process.

The programme consists of

  • 8 x 4hour (½ day training modules) covering the 8 areas outlined in Programme Objectives, typically 1 every six weeks

  • Individual coaching sessions x 4, for each participant with an Executive Coach with specialist and extensive expertise in HR

  • 3 assignments to be completed to ensure QQI certification Level 6 – Managing People.
